Pilates Team Bios
Emily is a Personal Trainer, Pilates and Group Fitness Instructor. Her certifications include A.C.E Personal Trainer & Fitness Instructor, Authentic Pilates Instructor, and Les Mills Certified Instructor. She has been working in the industry since 1998. Emily enjoys working with people who are overweight and having a tough time getting motivated – that is her specialty, and she loves to share the secrets she’s learned over the years to attaining a fit and healthy body.
Deborah has been certified in Authentic Romana’s Pilates since 2002. She believes that Pilates is for all walks of life and that everyone can benefit: from the injured to the inflexible or the uncoordinated to the very athletic. Deborah has seen Pilates play an integral part in her own life and loves sharing the many advantages with her clients.
Julie has been a Pilates devotee since 2003 after many years of active participation in Bikram Yoga. She received her M.A.T. Teacher Certification at Metropolitan Pilates in Seattle where she trained under Dorothee VandeWalle, a master Pilates teacher and widely recognized as one of the world’s leading teacher-trainers. Julie enjoys working with a wide variety of clients who appreciate the benefits of enhanced core strength to improve flexibility, balance, and overall fitness.
Susan’s credentials include: B.S. from Wayne State University, certified in Stott Pilates 2002, NSCA Personal Trainer, Posture and Alignment specialist, and Certified in Stretch to Win – assisted fascial stretch technique. My work is motivated by my passionate desire to teach people to heal their bodies, eliminate pain, and regain their flexibility and strength. Whether you consider yourself a beginner, intermediate or advanced level, I truly love working individually with every student who is interested in:
- learning how to improve their posture and alignment,
- getting back on track after some down time from injury,
- Redefining, through corrective movement, a more flexible and aligned way to thrive in the body in this fast-passed world.
In college, Zoe worked in the Adaptive Physical Education Program as an Assistant Physical Therapist. Designing and guiding workouts for students of all ages rehabilitating after injuries and surgeries. She branched out and interned in the Santa Rosa Sports Medicine Department for 2 years with resident Olympic Athletic Trainer Byron Craighead. Training alongside him and his field team providing first aid and training room support keeping college athletes in top form for their sports. This involvement led to her accreditation as an Emergency Medical Technician. Working on an Ambulance at the San Francisco International Airport. Interning with local Fire Departments, while volunteering with the Urban Search and Rescue. Invested in Pilates since 2007, she continues her education with workshops and independent studies. Certified with Pilates Integrated Teacher Training in San Francisco, California.
