Lauri brings over 25 years of experience to her yoga instruction, emphasizing breath, awareness and movement as important keys to unlocking physical and energetic blocks in the body, heart, and mind. Lauri’s Vinyasa-based classes are physically challenging, mentally calming, and deeply purifying. Her Hatha-based classes focus on three components of joint health: mobility, stability, and flexibility. Lauri is a certified Advanced Teacher of Yoga Therapy as well as a certified Wellness Coach with a focus on healthy habits and lifestyle.
Cathie fell into the healing arts in 1980 during her senior year of college. Since that time, she has intensely studied Shiatsu, Acupuncture (as continuing education for Shiatsu), Massage and Yoga. Cathie has been professionally committed to using her training to support others in experiencing mind, body, spirit wellness. Her primary aim is to assist her students and clients in connecting to their inner guidance and wisdom as a tool for navigating life. Cathie teaches Yin yoga, Hatha yoga workshops and offers massage at Zenergy.
Julie is a long-time resident of our valley having raised 3 children here; now enjoying them as adults. Her love of yoga began in savasana feeling the welcome release & true peace. Since then she has had many teachers, many workshops & many years of practice. Julie embraces all the basic tenets of the ancient yogic philosophy especially self-study and the benefits of focus & strength of asana practice & the subtleties of pranayama, mudra & mantra. She incorporates these aspects of yoga in a compassionate & inclusive manner & is available to substitute teach all yogis & is ready to chant always!
Danielle was first certified as a traditional ashtanga yoga instructor at Mount Madonna Center in Santa Cruz, California in 2003. She has also been trained in Iyengar and Anusara traditions in her intervening 10 years of teaching. Her teaching style is a mix of the 3 traditions with emphasis on alignment and flow. Danielle is formerly a US development team skier and college racer for Middlebury and University of Colorado. She is still an avid skier and teaches for the Sun Valley Snow Sports School during the winter months. Her approach to yoga is very much from an athlete’s perspective.
Diane Crist, M.A., is a certified yoga instructor and a Jungian psychotherapist who has been practicing in the Wood River Valley since 1989. She believes in the power of the psyche to influence illness and health. Diane honors the body’s ability to change one’s mindset. She is especially interested in the application of specific asanas (poses) to aid in the recovery of certain psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, or addictions. She weaves psychological and spiritual threads into her yoga classes while staying light and playful.
Through her own dedicated yoga practice, Tara realized the strength, inner peace, and sense of acceptance, yoga can offer. As a teacher of yoga, Tara hopes to offer the opportunity to enhance every individual’s unique path through highlighting yoga philosophies both physically and emotionally. She completed her 200-hour certification with Kaia Yoga in Connecticut and is thrilled to be here in Sun Valley to enhance her own practice and to share yoga with others, reflecting continually on her role as a teacher and student of yoga.
Dana is a Licensed Acupuncturist with a BA in Asian Studies from Colgate University and a Masters in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College. An avid practitioner of yoga since 1995, Dana built upon her personal yoga commitment by training as a teacher in 2011. She has found that Yoga is about making space both physically and emotionally. Dana profoundly appreciates that both acupuncture and yoga open the heart and the energy channels, nourishing all the organs and systems of the body as well as building vigor, clarity and joy. “May the light within me, salute the light within you.”
Yvette has managed fitness programs and facilities in Boise and Sun Valley since 1990.
Yvette is currently an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, RYS 200 Certified Instructor and StagesFlight Cycling Certified Instructor with a Kinesiology/Health Promotion degree from Boise State University. Since 1984, she has taught everything from ski conditioning to gentle yoga. Yvette’s enthusiasm and knack for teaching proper motor development and technical movement has made her a highly regarded instructor in the industry.
Yvette is the 2008 NGA Northwest Natural Masters Figure Champion and has trained several medalists in the field. As a competitive cheerleader, gymnast and track athlete, she ‘amped’ up her interest in running and has teamed up with a group of friends to win the Masters Division of the Sawtooth Relays seven times.
If she isn’t cheering you on in the PIVOT, Fitness, Cycling or Yoga studio, you’ll find her hiking and camping with husband, Dave, and her crazy dogs. Her motto is “Life is short – make it fun!”
Heather is an ACE certified personal trainer, Body Pump, TRX , and CX certified instructor, and children’s yoga instructor. She holds a Masters in Elementary and Special Education and B.A in Geography – Environmental Science & Geology. Originally from upstate New York, Heather found her home in Sun Valley in 2010. When not teaching, working at the spa, or managing Stone Art Gallery, you can find her rafting, running, kayaking, cooking or walking her dog, Scout, to the top of a mountain. However, her passion is travel and she often embarks on adventures to far and remote places.
Cal brings 19 years of practicing Qi Gong to Zenergy. Qi Gong can be defined as “dedicated energy work.” It is a soft martial art form that focuses upon cultivating energy to create calmness of spirit with the added benefits of improved balance, coordination and strength. Cal offers simple instruction encouraging each person in his or her own journey of energy cultivation. Cal is also a board-certified acupuncturist with 17 years’ experience practicing in the Wood River Valley.
Shawn is currently completing his 500hr Yoga Alliance certification with Mark Stephens, who literally wrote the book on yoga teacher training in the United States. Practicing since 2001, he’s been lucky enough to study with many of the architects of modern asana practice, including Rodney Yee, Richard Freeman, Rod Stryker and Patricia Walden. He teaches from the belief that it’s what we’re doing with our hearts and minds while we’re on the mat that carries over into the rest of our lives.
Katherine has been teaching yoga since 1999. She is certified in Iyengar, Advanced Restorative, Essential Yoga Therapy and Low back Therapy. Whether you are a beginner, advanced yoga student or have health concerns Katherine will inspire you to explore your individual needs. In addition to yoga, Katherine holds an Associate of Science Medical degree, Certified Healing Touch Practitioner endorsed by the Holistic Nursing Association of America and is a Certified Aroma Touch Therapist.
Brenda is an ACSM Health Fitness Instructor and Certified Yoga Instructor. She also holds a B.S. in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Sports Nutrition. Brenda has been in the fitness industry for 20 years. Throughout her experience, Brenda’s constant passion has been teaching group exercise, personal training, yoga, and helping her clients understand the importance of the nutritional component in their routines.
Due to a keen interest in yoga, Ryan began exploring the sub-continent of India at a very young age. During his travels, Sri Sathya Baba inspired and awakened him to a lifelong commitment to spirituality. At the age of 21, Ryan began sharing his yoga practice as a certified instructor in Santa Barbara, California. With close to three years of intensive study in India, Ryan has grounded the roots of his teachings deep in Indian Philosophy, while also integrating western principles of Anatomy and Physiology. Ryan continues to lead retreats and teach workshops internationally in both yoga and Ayurveda.
Victoria was first introduced to yoga in 1969, and it has become a constant unifying thread in her life. She began teaching yoga in 1997, and has delighted in sharing the benefits of yoga ever since, believing that yoga is accessible to all. Having had the good fortune to study with a wide range of teachers, she also completed the Intensive Advanced Yoga Teacher Training in 2004-05 in Piedmont, California, and now holds E-RYT 500 Certification. With a Hatha Blend style, Victoria has taught in southern Idaho and the Bay Area, joining the Wood River yoga community in 2006. Additionally, she has trained future yoga teachers through Shanti Yoga and IdaYoga. Victoria especially relishes teaching pranayama, yoga of the breath.
Marney Sullivan is boundlessly energetic and relentlessly authentic. A certified yoga teacher since 2001, writer, and risk taker, she leads insightful and inspirational classes and yoga retreats. She first moved to Ketchum in the early 70s as a young girl and has lived in and out of the Wood River Valley since then. Marney has had the good fortune of studying and gaining certifications in Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. She continues to seek out teachers around the world and teaches Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
Yoga as a transformative practice is the heart of Tyia Wilson’s teaching. Her personal transformational journey with fibromyalgia inspired her to teach others how to heal, maintain, and strengthen their bodies through applying yoga with self-acceptance, inner nurturing, and conscious self-care. A 200 hour-RYT certified instructor, Tyia has been influenced through her studies with Manorama D’Avila, Eddie Modestini, Bhavani Maki, Cathie Caccia, Tracee Stanley, Pilar Tumolo, and Mariam Askari. Through the application of sanskrit mantra and toning, Tyia also uses her skills as a professional singer/songwriter and kirtan leader to teach the use of voice and sound to compliment one’s yoga practice. Tyia’s initial attraction to yoga was in developing subtle nuance and grace. As an instructor she focuses upon evolving cues and movements which offer practitioners the opportunity to expand their own understanding of themselves through each pose.
Bianca is a certified yoga therapist/instructor and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and the founder of Be Integrative Wellness, an integrative health and wellness healing practice that integrates physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual healing the whole person. She has taught in hospitals, wellness centers, corporate workplaces, schools, and yoga studios and to her own private clientele since 2009.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science majoring in Allied Health in Executive Healthcare Leadership and Health Promotion, a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Fine Arts, certifications as a Hatha Yoga Instructor and Shambala Reiki Master, Bianca began to empower wholeness at the individual, social, and worldly levels deepening the awareness and impact of her students and clients.
In 2018, Bianca was accepted to the California Institute of Integral Studies for the Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology for Community Mental Health and is on her way to becoming a licensed in the states of California and Idaho as a clinical trauma therapist. Bianca’s healing practice, classes, workshops and speaking events are intended to serve as a diverse blend of inspiration to engage people of all levels of ability.
Bianca is a San Diego native that has recently relocated and now calls the mountains of Sun Valley, Idaho home.
