Good morning, chocolate lovers! If your perfect day begins and ends with chocolate, our new favorite smoothie may be for you. Packed with protein, healthy fats, vitamins and antioxidants, it makes a highly satisfying breakfast, post-workout replenisher or wholesome dessert. Comparing it to a Thin Mint cookie would be selling it short. If you (or your kids) haven't quite developed a love for green smoothies, give it a try! You'll get a hefty dose of vitamin-rich kale without feeling like you're guzzling salad.
CHOCOLATE MINT SMOOTHIE
Makes 1 – 1.5 servings
1 ripe banana, frozen (if unfrozen, add 1/2 – 3/4 cup ice)
1 – 2 tbsp raw cacao*
1 tbsp almond butter
1/2 – 3/4 cup fresh or frozen kale (substitute spinach if desired)
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/4 – 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
1/2 – 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla hemp milk
Optional adds: Hemp protein, avocado
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
