Winter Hydration

Cold temperatures can make it more challenging to stay hydrated—who wants a cold drink on a cold, blustery day? But winter is no excuse to skip the hydration. In fact, if you’re spending time outside enjoying winter sports, water is critical.

So, how can you stay hydrated when the last thing you want is a swig of cold water? Warm winter drinks can warm you and hydrate you at the same time. So, if you find yourself avoiding a glass of cold water, try one of these warm winter drinks to stay hydrated:

Hot Lemon Water: Drop a lemon wedge in hot water and add a dash of sea salt. This hydrating electrolyte drink will warm you from the inside out. Change it up by replacing the lemon with lime. You can always sweeten it up with a dash of maple syrup or honey.

Immune-Boosting Toddy: Mix hot water with fresh lemon, fresh ginger, honey, cayenne and Echinacea. The delicious combination will warm you up, hydrate you, and boost your immune system.

Harvest Cider: Mix warm apple juice, lemon, and fresh ginger with cinnamon and cayenne for a delicious, hydrating, warm drink.
